- Metcalfe was called Hawley's Corners until 1877 and grew up as a stop on the old Bytown-to-Cornwall stagecoach road.
- The Metcalfe Fair has been held every fall since 1856 at the fairgrounds on 8th Line Road, which also host a Saturday farmers' market from May to October.
- Dumped and Done was selected to handle garbage collection at the 2026 Metcalfe Fair, the 170th. We collected the garbage across the fairgrounds and took it to dumpsters away from the crowds, one more way of giving back to the community we grew up in.
- Osgoode village, about 15 to 20 minutes from Metcalfe, was known as Osgoode Station until 1962 and sits about 2 km from the Rideau River.
- Both villages are surrounded by farms and acreages, and our trailer handles shed, workshop and outbuilding cleanouts as easily as basements and garages.
